bicycle undercarriage

A form of landing gear having two main legs in tandem on the aircraft center-line. This design is followed when there is insufficient stowage room for the retracted landing gear because of high-set, thin wings. The design has some distinct disadvantages, like high weight and higher costs because of more components.
